Karissa and Nick’s story is a special, and emotional one for us. We are so excited to share this blog post with you!
In May, we posted about our first ever ‘Sponsor A Couple’ that we created as a response to the incredibly difficult circumstance of the 2020 COVID pandemic. Our idea was that with every engagement on social media – every post like, comment, and share – a dollar figure would be deducted from our videography package. The videography package, with however much discounted from the community, would be given to a special couple.
We asked for people who knew couples suffering from the effects of COVID to nominate them. We wanted to give one special couple a small gift to make their celebration amidst a pandemic a little sweeter. Although we had so many amazing nominations and learned about incredible couples, one, in particular, stood out to us.
Karissa and Nick had a truly impactful story that spoke to our team. We heard pieces of their story through over six nominations from family and friends. Not only did this couple have the difficulties of a pandemic during their engagement and wedding, but one of their close family members battles an illness. Personally, our team resonated with their story, and we knew that we wanted to do whatever we could to help them.
After winning the campaign on Father’s Day, our excitement – along with Karissa and Nick – built until their special day on August first. This amazing couple celebrated their love in the magical and enchanting Secret Garden at Woodbridge Ponds. After eight years, surrounded by only select family and friends, Karissa and Nick were married. Even though so many people couldn’t be there, one of this couple’s favourite moments was watching a video compilation of loved ones sending their congratulations.
We hoped to give Nick and Karissa a lasting gift that they could always look back on for years to come and to capture the special bond with their family and one who doesn’t have much time left. Our vision was to bless them by capturing the love they are building. Thanks to their exuberance and the support of so many, we were able to give Karissa and Nick their wedding videography for free.
